Scope and provider

These terms cover Dot Dialer, developed by Alexandru Butica / Dot Design. Provider: Dot Design Web S.R.L., Romanian company number 26427855, J40/701/2010, 4 Johann Sebastian Bach Street, Sector 2, Bucharest, Romania. Contact: contact@dotdesign.ro. They do not replace mandatory statutory rights or applicable software licenses.

Features and permissions

Dot Dialer provides an interface for contacts, call history and calls handled by Android/Telecom. Features depend on permissions and, where Android requires it, the default phone-app role. You can change the default app in system settings. The app does not provide its own phone network, call-audio recording or video-calling service.

Network, emergencies and messages

Call availability and routing, including emergency calls, depend on Android, the device, SIM, carrier and configured service. Charges, roaming and messaging are determined by the relevant providers. Check the number and recipient before placing a call or sending a message. SMS, WhatsApp and sharing are initiated by the user and may involve external services.

Google Contacts and other services

Google Contacts photos are optional and available in the Google Play variant after authorisation. The feature uses read-only contact access, not Google Photos. Google services, app stores and other apps used through sharing have their own terms and may change integration availability.

Contact maintenance

Editing, standardizing, merging and unlinking contacts change the system address book and may be synchronized by the account provider. A shared number does not prove a shared identity. Review sources and confirmation; we recommend a backup before maintenance operations.

Export and restore

.rphone exports are unencrypted ZIP archives containing preferences and notes. Keep them secure and import only files you trust. Restoring may change app data; review the options before confirming. Android backup and device-to-device transfer also depend on system settings.

Purchases

Purchases through Google Play or RuStore are also subject to the store's payment and refund terms. External payments take place outside the app. Review the provider's displayed price and conditions before confirming.

Free software and attribution

Dot Dialer is based on Goodwy/RPhone and retains attribution to the original authors. Code covered by GNU GPLv3 may be used, modified and redistributed under that licence; these terms do not restrict GPLv3 rights. Licence: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html. The app’s Source code entry links to its repository. For the corresponding source of your version, contact contact@dotdesign.ro with the build number.

Use and availability

Use the app on devices and accounts you are authorised to use, and respect the rights of people whose data you manage. Compatibility may vary with Android, the manufacturer, carrier and configuration. Uninterrupted operation in every situation is not promised. Warranty limitations apply under the licence and applicable law without excluding mandatory consumer rights.
